Probing dark excitons in transient absorption

Contrary to common belief, dark excitons play an important role in transient absorption spectroscopy. In this work, which is currently under review by Nano Letters, we demonstrate how different dark excitons contribute to the measured transient absorption spectrum. Theory also allows us to isolate the individual contributions and evaluate their importance in the final spectrum.
